Spintastics Tigershark

The Tigershark is a popular subject for mods, especially the old-style Tigershark with raised discs as opposed to starbursts. All these mods apply to the old-style Tigershark unless otherwise specified.

Justin Williams recommends sanding the raised discs to about half their original thickness. This widens the gap a little, and the sanding roughs up the discs, providing better response.

Outlaw31 recommends the following:
1. Take out all of the guts- the o-rings spacers and the bearing.
2. Put a Team Losi o-ring in one side, and put Team Losi spacers and a Team Losi bearing in.
3. Put in one performance ring on one side.
4. Put on a slick 6 string and you are ready to go!

GregB's recommendation:
1. Cut groves in the disks to add some responsiveness.
2. Sand the spacers on the bearing side to expose more of the bearing and make it smooth on string.
3. Add a shim or two on the *other* side of the spacer to widen the gap a bit.
4. Lube it.
Sorry for all the steps, but the old T-Shark is a science project in my book. Set up this way, it will play great and not need lube too often.

David Capurro's T-Shark Mod:
-Take out all the guts, the axle and the hex nuts too... use an axle and nuts from a Tornado
-Use a Losi red capped sealed bearing (this is why you have to change axles)
-Use those spiffy brass colored bearing spacers out of a Firefly
-2 o-rings on each side
-And for heavens sakes, don't lube it.
This is what I do, and it takes some breaking in... note that this configuration doesn't always work, it takes some playing around to get it working nicely.

Everybody does different things to their T-Sharks, email me your mod and I'll post it! -Roger
