Rock the Baby on the Eiffel Tower

Looping - String Moves - String Combos

Ok, this is the right-handed description.

First you do a trapeze. That's the "easy" part.. ;)

Now, spread the thumb and index finger on your right hand, to make a shape like the letter C (a backwards C from your view). Make sure that your thumb is between you and the single string coming off the middle finger.

Put all 4 fingers of your left hand into the double string, instead of just the index finger.

Now bring your hands closer together, and reach through the doubled strings with your left hand fingers. Use them to grab onto the single string, the section which is above your right hand thumb.

Now, quickly pull that string towards you, so it goes over your right hand thumb. Keep pulling it so it goes through the doubled strings, and down to form the cradle.

When you pull the string through, the doubled strings will no longer be supported, and they will fall. This is what you want to happen. But if all goes well they will not fall all the way. Instead they will catch on the trangle of the cradle you formed.

Now.. to clarify that a bit. Basically you can think of the doubled strings on the left as a loop. The main motion of the trick is to grab the single string that is on the right, and pull it through the loop. You don't actually do anything to the loop. You only reach through it, and pull the hand back out again (with the single string).

The reason for making the C shape in your right hand, and for pulling the string over the thumb when you pull it through the loop, is that the top of the cradle will be hanging from your thumb. This is similar to one of the ways of making a regular rocking the baby (the way where you hold your hand up like someone doing STOP and pulling the string over the thumb and down).

If all goes well, when the loop falls, it'll fall about a third of the way down, and the yo-yo will hang from it. If your yo-yo turns out too close to the bottom of the cradle, try to pull the string through the loop faster, and/or spread the bottom of the cradle as soon as you can.

I hope you can puzzle that out. If you have any questions, I'll try to answer them. Also, the pictures of the finished trick that are on David Capurro's website, and on Tomer's site are accurate. Look at these to see how it should come out.

P.S. Thanks Bobb for the info. on the C shape. =) That is what did it for me, and seems to be the easiest method of all those I've seen listed.
