That can't be true. That is the opinion of a guy on the outside looking in who knows absolutely nothing about anything.
The total income from the event is the registration and the sponsorship money. Eight hundred people paying $40 equals $32k, not to mention whatever they make from the sponsors.
You’re likely more informed about this than I am (Being as you worked for II), but I just can’t fathom it being true. I always got the impression that Greg ran the contest and II was a separate entity.
