Check out this meaty link to a story on the godanriver.com website. It’s about alleged ‘man’ Samm Scott competing at Worlds. I was all excited to read a profile of one of my favorite yo-yoers. It’s a little blurb about how Samm is competing at Worlds. I suspect this blurb is from a press release, but come on! Get a photographer out to take a picture of Samm. Talk to him! Find out how he did at last year’s Worlds or any contest for that matter. Samm’s a good yo-yoer, but you wouldn’t know it from reading this article. Check out the sad little ‘article’ here.

The good folks in Ipswitch, Great Britain, are attempting to knock off the record for most people yo-yoing at the same time. This same record, by the way, is being attempted in California. BUT, the Ipswitch peeps have a secret weapon! This Lab puppy has mastered the old ‘up and down.’ OK, well, perhaps it IS a photoshopped pic, but still, it’s a puppy! Yo-yoing!
Check out the articles here and here about the Ipswitch attempt.

Sage words uttered by Tyler Severance in an article about Tennessee States. Despite that the article works in the worlds “have the world on a string” into the title for the 2,789th time, it’s a nice little wrap up on Tennessee States. Check it out here.

…to break the yet to be certified Guinness record for most people yo-yoing at the same time. According to this article in the Orlando Sentinel, 2102 people yo-yoed at the same time last week at the Orlando Regional History Center. They were trying to break a record ’set’ last year by the Bowie Baysox, in Maryland. Guinness hasn’t recognized the 1600 from that event as the record holders, so the ‘official’ record is still 432.
In a related article, you can try out for American Gladiators at Universal Studios on Feb 9th. Come on, Jack, we know you would totally kick Gladiator butt!
